Bullet HD Video Cam Review

Just purchased this helmet cam for scenario events. Will follow up with a full review after "The Battle for Hue" Wayne's World event in Ocala on July 9th/10th Stay tuned...

http://www.bullethd.us/

7/13 Review... Ok. First let me start by saying this cam is very light. Had it on my mask all day and could not tell it was even there. Out of the box, the bullet cam lives up to the hype. Waterproof and durable aluminum housing gives this cam an advantage over other cams in the market but if you want sound in your vids, you have to purchase the back sound cap which then makes the cam water resistant. Should come free IMO. The function requires the user to press the power button, wait about 20 seconds, then press the power button again to start recording with only a slight beep to confirm you are taking video. Not big on that since most of the time I was wearing my paintball mask. Overall durability and picture quality made up for it. Took a glancing blow to the cam with no problem. The sound cap is truly water resistant since it rained on Saturday. Overall I would rate this cam 7.5 out of 10. Minus 1 point for the on/off video button sequence. Another 1 point for not including the sound back cap. Finally .5 point for not providing a louder audible beep to let you know when the cam is on or not. Will follow up with vids soon taken by this cam to show video quality.

What Makes a Scenario Team Good or the Best?

What Makes a Scenario Team Good or the Best?

Have you ever heard someone say “That team is the best scenario team around?” What makes a scenario team the best? What even makes a scenario team good? These questions are all hard to answer because there are no point systems or ranking system in scenario games. You can’t even base how good a team is on their win and loss record because one side is made up of multiple teams.

My opinion is that people base their opinions on a couple of different factors. Just like in any other sport I think one of the big factors is popularity. How well a team is known plays a big role in people thinking they are the best. In the scenario world you have different teams. You have national, regional, and local teams. You have national teams like Blues Crew, Delta, The Hellions, and Team Desert Edge. These are all teams that most if not all scenario paintballers have heard of. Your regional teams are teams that play within their state or within a couple of states away. If you live within the region these teams play you probably have heard of them. The last is your local teams, and they usually only play games that are at their home field or within a few hours away. So the National teams are the most popular and in return suggested as the better team.

Another factor that I believe plays into people thinking one team is better than another is fire power or size. What is more intimidating than size? If you can bring 20+ player’s under one name to an event, which is a big intimidation factor. I have noticed lately that a lot of teams are merging or become this larger super team. They want the members so they can attend more events and be more intimidating. With the larger team you are also more noticeable on the field, because you can cover more of the field. A kind of spin off from popularity is how many sponsors a team has. Not sure why but some people look at teams and say wow that must be a good team they have a lot of sponsors. Sponsors don’t make a team, especially nowadays where almost anyone can get “sponsored.” I don’t consider getting 10% off merchandise a sponsorship but that is what 80% of the teams get, there is nothing special about getting 10% off. That is for another day and another topic.

So I’ve told you my opinion of what I think some people take into consideration when naming the best scenario teams, and now I want to give you my opinion on what I think makes a good scenario team. First thing I look for in a team is their attitude or what I like to call their heart. Does a team have a good attitude towards other teams, players, referees, or the field? Having heart means you are passionate about something and love it and will stand up for it and treat it right. If you don’t have a good attitude then other teams aren’t going to want to play next to you and generals aren’t going to want you on their side. Having a good attitude is being able to be aggressive but respectful. Players need to have respect for their team, other teams and players, and to the field. Having this will give you a good day of paintball and others a good day.

A good aspect of any team no matter what sport is being well organized and disciplined. This is what I like to refer to as the backbone of the team. Just like the backbone in the body the backbone of the team is what will hold it up and keep it strong. If a team isn’t organized then they are no better than a group of walk-ons, and will crumble when pushed hard enough. A general should be able to rely on a team to do what he sends them to and to not fall apart when trying to accomplish what he sent them to do. A scenario game can be kind of dull at times, but that is when it pays off to be disciplined and do what the general needs you to do no matter how dull it is. The general is looking at the big picture and knows the whole game plan. I also believe that being organized and disciplined you should be able to defeat almost any size opposition in your way.

Second, I think the team needs to be diverse. The team needs to be made up of all different kinds of players like speedballers, woodsballers, and specialists. One of the best things a general can ask for is a diverse team because he knows no matter what he asks them to do they can do it. No matter if he needs them to clear out a patch of woods or go hold a speedball field. A scenario game changes all the time and the general needs to be able to rely on a team no matter what he needs at the time. I’ve heard teams be labeled mission teams, tank teams, or fire support teams and be one of the best in their respected fields, but are only good in those respected fields. What if you are backed up to your base and are unable to run missions, you need that mission team to turn into a fire support team and help hold that line. Similar thing can happen with a fire support team, what if you have a good line, but your mission team is tied up you need that fire support team to run a mission.

All in all I don’t think popularity or size of a team matters. It all depends on the heart and backbone of the team. The next time you are thinking about who is the best scenario team, first think about what makes a good or the best scenario team.

TEAM

TEAM

Team >Noun 1. A group of players forming one side in a competitive game or sport. 2. Two or more people working together. 3. Two or more horses in harness together to pull a vehicle. >Verb 1. (Team up) come together as a team to achieve a common goal. 2. (Team with) match or coordinate with.

What does this word mean to you?

Recent events like the take down of Bin Laden by the Navy Seals Team Six just instills how important teamwork is. I love the old saying “There is no “I” in team.” It takes practice, dedication, and teamwork to be good at whatever you do as a team.

If you look at members of SWAT, DELTA, or SEALS, they all have teamwork in common; even at the sniper position. In the sport of scenario paintball, you will find that this concept translates

to some of the best scenario paintball teams across the country.

As Team On Target heads into the summer months, we are gearing up for the

1st Strike/2nd Strike game at Wayne’s World in Ocala on July 9th/10th. We are looking forward to seeing some old friends and new faces.

Intel Report: Sept. 4th-6th, 2009 Hades Factor

Intel Report: Sept. 4th-6th, 2009

Team On Target “Leads the way”.

The last minute venue change of the Hades factor from Blanding to First Strike Paintball (Kudos to Randy and Andrea) didn’t phase the game play of Team On Target. Blue side got to an early lead by retrieving all of the game props on Friday. That just fueled the fire for us and the red side. Come Saturday it was game on. Mission after mission it was T.O.T. leading the way. My hat goes out to the blue team for not backing down and the multiple tank onslaughts but our very own [T.O.T] Ghost was there to get the M.V.D. (Most Valuable Demo) award presented by the red side General Hammer and the “In Your Face” award was presented to Ghost by the General Kamikaze of the blue side. We thank you [T.O.T.] Ghost for your team efforts and experience.

The night element brought out some different tactics for our team members. Not only were we running our missions, but we were in the blue side’s face taking over their base and holding the perimeter.

Sunday brought on a new revelation. Leading the charge was our very own Team Captain [T.O.T.] Iceman by blowing the Blue Base over a dozen times. Talk about controlling the area. Blue side tried on a few occasions with their tank, but it was no match with [T.O.T.] Iceman”, [T.O.T.] N2, and [T.O.T.] Ghost giving our troops the support they needed.

The final battle brought out the best of us. The blue side needed to win the battle to secure the victory of the whole event, yes the score was that close. T.O.T. was instrumental it getting the mission completed while holding an offensive and defensive position. Laying down some serious fire power to protect our left flank, sending in runners to retrieve the necessary items to complete our mission, and holding a defensive perimeter to protect our objective; T.O.T. help lead the way to another victory and a Most Valuable Team Award.

Thanks to all the team members that were there, you know who you are, awesome work. To the rookies trying out, great showing and thanks for the help. To the all teams and walk-ons on the red side, job well done. Thanks to our sponsors for supporting us, we appreciate all that you do. To the refs who were all ducking for cover, nice job and thanks for a great game. To Cookie, awesome food as always. To our ammo crew at the final battle, you rock!!! To Joe, Sasquatch, Randy, Shewolf, Ronbo, and all the countless others a big “THANK YOU” goes out to all of you for putting on a great event on such short notice.

Team On Target will be traveling to Old River Paintball on Oct. 17th & 18th to go after another M.V.T. to add to the four we earned this year. With only three major scenarios left in the 2009 season leading up to the Grand Finale at Wayne’s World.
